Guidelines for a Safe, Disciplined, and Harmonious Campus Life

All hostel residents are required to strictly adhere to the following rules and regulations. Violations will be treated seriously and may result in disciplinary action, fines, or expulsion from the hostel. The Chief Warden is the final authority in all matters related to hostel discipline, admission, and functioning.

Motorized Vehicles: No hostel resident can keep any motorized vehicle in the University. However, bicycles are permitted for local transport. Disciplinary action, including fine, will be imposed on defaulters.

Anti-Ragging Policy: Ragging is strictly prohibited inside as well as outside the Hostels/Campus. Cases will be handled as per Hon'ble Supreme Court orders. Freshers should promptly report to the Warden, Officer-in-charge, Chief Warden, or any competent authority if ragged.

Violence & Damage: Any act of intimidation, violence, willful damage to property, or drunken and riotous behavior constitutes an offence. Offenders will be expelled from hostel without notice and face disciplinary action.

Narcotics & Alcohol: Use of narcotics, consumption of alcoholic beverages, and gambling are strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action shall be taken against violators.

Smoking Ban: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside hostel/University campus. Students found smoking or in possession of smoking items shall be penalized for indiscipline and causing a possible fire hazard.

Videography: Videography is prohibited inside hostel premises. Students found indulging in such activity will face necessary disciplinary action.

Staff Relations: Misbehavior or indulging in altercation with staff members/security staff will be treated as an offence and is liable for expulsion from the hostel.

Leave Procedures: Hostel inmates shall enter their names in the register before leaving campus and seek written permission from their hostel Wardens before long leave.

Boys Hostel Curfew: Boys hostel inmates shall not be allowed to leave/enter the hostel after 11:00 PM. Late reporting will result in disciplinary action.

Daily Attendance: All hostellers must sign daily attendance in the register available with Hostel Attendants. Failing to sign for 7 consecutive days without permission will result in accommodation cancellation without notice.

Girls Hostel Curfew: All girl hostellers must be back in campus by 9:00 PM and in their hostel by 11:00 PM. Disciplinary action will be taken against defaulters.

Boys Hostel Visitors: No female member is permitted to visit boys' hostel rooms. Visitors may see their wards in the visitors' room only.

Girls Hostel Visitors: No male member is permitted to visit girls' hostel. With warden's permission, visitors may see their wards in the visitors' room only.

Day Scholars: No day-scholar or other person is permitted to stay in the hostel after 9:00 PM. Permission from the warden is required for meetings.

Guest Stay Policy: Day scholars must seek prior permission from Chief Warden/Officer-in-charge through their warden. Guest charges: Rs. 300/day (Non-AC), Rs. 500/day (AC). Maximum stay: 5 days.

Unauthorized Guests: Entertaining or providing accommodation to any unauthorized person is punishable and will result in expulsion from the hostel.

Time Violations: Non-adherence to time norms (points 8 and 10) is grave misconduct and may result in expulsion. The Warden Council's decision is final and binding.

Outsider Restrictions: Outsiders are not allowed in girls'/boys' hostels.

Personal Belongings: Hostel inmates should take care of their belongings. The University is not responsible for losses. Jewelry, costly watches, and mobile phones must not be left unattended.

Desert Cooler: Prior permission required from warden. Charges: Rs. 1,000/year. Fines apply beyond the deadline.

Vulgar Content: Display of vulgar posters/calendars is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance leads to disciplinary action.

Cooking & Inflammables: Cooking and keeping inflammable items inside hostel is strictly prohibited and will be penalized as fire hazard.

Electrical Appliances: Electric iron and kettle permitted with prior permission. Charges: Rs. 100/month per item. Room heaters and other appliances not permitted.

False Fire Alarms: Triggering false fire alarms is serious indiscipline and shall be penalized.

Minimum Attendance: Minimum stay duration: 85%. Reviewed monthly/semester/yearly. Short attendance or frequent absence leads to allotment cancellation.

Lost ID Card: Fine of Rs. 200 and FIR copy required for duplicate hostel identity card.

Emergency Contact: In emergencies, contact the concerned Hostel Warden/Officer In-Charge/Chief Warden.

Notice Boards: Check notice boards regularly for announcements. Suggestions to improve hostel environment are welcome.

Restricted Areas: No access to terrace/AHU room under any circumstances. Using fire exit for sitting strictly prohibited. Violations invite disciplinary action including expulsion.

Warden Authority: Wardens may impose fines for any indiscipline as deemed appropriate.

Contact Updates: Keep Warden Office informed about changes in contact number/email ID/Hostel ID.

Authentic Details: Students must provide authentic details of self, parents, and local guardians for hostel records.

Chief Warden Authority: The Chief Warden is the final authority in matters of discipline, admission, and overall hostel functioning.

Compliance: All hostel residents shall abide by the above rules. Violations will be viewed seriously. Hostel Wardens are fully empowered to deal with residents as situations demand.
