Rules for Eligibility for Hostel Allotment

Hostel allotment will be provided on the basis of the category selected by the candidate during admissionat at Delhi Technological University. No further changes of category will be allowed. Hostel allotment is very limited and our priority is to accommodate candidates coming from Outside Delhi Category and so it may be possible that Delhi Category candidates may not get hostel accommodation.

2.1 Hostel accommodation is limited and will be allotted to full- time bonafide students of DTU. However, the applicants should satisfy the following eligibility criteria for hostel allotment. After the allotment of the rooms the allottee will be held responsible for any damage in his / her room.

For fresh students
a. The first preference for hostel accommodation will be given to Outside Delhi Category students (as per given in admission slip).
b. All fresh applicants belonging to PH category shall be provided hostel accommodation if they apply for it.
c. All foreign/ NRIs students will be treated as Outside Delhi Category students.
d. If seats are available, the second preference for hostel accommodation will be given to those from outside Delhi but studied in Delhi provided they produce certificate for their stay in hostels during Senior Secondary schooling (Certificate from Recognized School)
e. The students who have been admitted in the University under Outside Delhi category, but residing in Delhi, NCR will be considered as Delhi Category student for the purpose of hostel allotment.
f. If seats are available, the next preference will be given to Delhi Category students residing more than 35 km. from DTU campus.
For senior students
a. For senior students already living in hostels, accommodation will be provided to the students having no back log & back papers/merit wise.
b. All senior students belonging to PH category with back paper will be provided hostel accommodation
c. If any seat is still available it will be allotted to senior students applying fresh.
2.2 Before admission / during period of stay, if the resident is found not fulfilling any of the above conditions, he / she will be required to vacate the hostel immediately.
2.3 Suppression of facts/ furnishing wrong information pertaining to any of these eligibility criteria would lead to cancellation of allotment or suitable disciplinary action will be taken by the hostel authorities.
